Dairin Evers-Nolan has been a passionate secondary school educator for the past 20
years. From the inception of the programme, she was the LCA Coordinator at Coláiste Chraobh Abhannn, Co. Wicklow. Since 2018, she has been teaching Maths, Science and ICT to the students of Holy Child Community School, Co. Dublin.
While teaching the new Introduction to ICT course for LCA, Dairin identified the need for a comprehensive resource that was tailored to the needs of both students and teachers, and that reflected modern-day methodologies and standards.
This hybrid text/workbook fulfills the requirements of the syllabus, equipping students with the skills they need for work and life.
It offers students and teachers:
- An easy-to-follow, inspiring text interspersed with tasks for individual, paired, and whole-class learning and discussion.
- A logical progression through Module 1, with tasks so that students can learn by “doing”.
- Scaffolded learning with step-by-step guides.
- Differentiated tasks for students of all abilities.
- Regular “Test Your Learning” sections.
It aims to fill the void in educational resources and serve as a practical companion for educators and students navigating the challenges of ICT.
